It looked like he almost got killed by a bird to me. It went down DEEP into his flesh! But still didn’t hit anything vital. Impressive creatures. A mammal would have bled out or died of infection. We also saw feral horses!!! 😱 Then the dogs barked at them and scared them off! 😢😓 Oh! And the last photo is an implanted chip i found in one of the fins of the browns (the one that looks like a gnarly barracuda trout 😄) when I was filleting it up. Evidently it holds information for the researchers that put it there, but it’s so small I can’t imagine it will tell them more than when it was last caught by researchers (probably by a process called electro-fishing). Sorry I’m slow at sharing! I’ll try to get better at doing it on a schedule. 😬
